Wedding season for me has started to draw to a close, it has been a beautiful season and as always my brides are a dream to work with.
This weekend I took myself away to Brighton to our family home to relax and catch up on emails/admin and all the stuff that makes me squint and hide under the covers... it all got done.
While down here I took a day trip to St Leonards to visit my friend Nathan who also happens to be a wonderful photographer and we discussed getting some new shots for the website and for the Instagram takeover that I will be doing in two weeks for Stylist Magazine.
Getting me in front of the camera is a nightmare, they say you should never work with children or animals......and now add uneasy florists to that list.
Basically I have a facial jazz freak out whenever a camera comes near me, unless I have had fifty bottles of wine and then I'm cool if a bit sloppy. Either way I always look aghast or that I have been caught pinching snacks from my Nans fridge, I knew Nathan had his work cut out for him, I just didn't convey how much work.
Below are some of the pictures Nathan caught of me, he was incredibly patient and had a subtle knack of distracting me and catching me off guard in a great way, thank you!
Nathan's work can be seen here, and it is definitely something to see
Oh and the pupp is Darcy....another great distraction x

Prince has been my friend since before I can remember; his music has been in my life I even when I wasn’t sure what music was. First introduced to him by my Dad I can recall seeing all the LP covers around the flat and then they transformed into CD covers. Listening to his hypnotising tones and outrageous funk beats. I would go from dancing to blushing in a heartbeat when I figured out some of his lyrics. I first learnt about sex, love and magic through Prince as I am sure many did.
Growing up when I was a teenager I was really uncomfortable with the way I looked, I had thick unruly hair, was a spotty and chubby when most of the girls in my year were blonde and skinny and although I luckily never went through the hideous trauma of being bullied by others I definitely bullied myself in my head for not fitting the mold, which now by the way I am pretty happy with.
The one thing I turned to and found comfort and confidence in was music, I would stay in my room and sit by the radio with my fingers on the record and pause button waiting for my favourite songs to come on so I could capture them and keep them forever. During this time Prince played a huge role, songs like “U Got the Look” , “Diamonds and Pearls”, “Most beautiful Girl in the World”, “Get Off”, “Cream” and many more were recorded and played back so much I would tangle, untangle and wear down the tapes until they were nothing.
Prince’s music made/makes me so happy that when any of his songs come on you get up and dance or sing at the top of your voice. Prince had an approach to women, love and sex that was empowering and made you feel special rather than smutty. You felt adored rather than objectified and proud rather than a prude. Through Prince and his music I learnt how to be confident and celebrate what I have rather than shy away because I didn’t look like the magazine covers.
His music to me is honest and real and is a celebration of all chapters of life. It is all-encompassing, fun, sassy, heartbreaking, sexy and cuts through you like a warm butter knife, and my God if you ever had the pleasure of seeing him live as I have a few times you would be amazed how his live productions were as if you had been admitted to heaven for a few hours. His showmanship is second to none and he made parts of my body move that I didn’t think were possible. In a room or field of how many thousands of people Prince made you feel like he was singing to only you.
I could go on for ages about Prince but no one has that kind of time, so all I will say is Thank You Prince for everything, every time I hear your songs I smile and it feels like glitter cannons are going off all around me. I am 98% sure you made me into a sassy starfish with the turn on your heel and look back and smirk move and you are 100% the reason I love music and kill it on a dance floor.
Prince RIP,I bloody love you and.. ahem..
Nothing Compares to You.
On March 12th, Wild Renata Flowers was invited by the Royal Academy of Arts to collaborate with them on one of their infamous Lates parties.
The theme of this party was The Garden at Night Time and was in support of the RA's incredible latest exhibition
"Painting the Modern Garden:Matisse to Monet"
Wild Renata Flowers installed a mini woodland onto the main staircase where the guests would later be found posing and interacting with over 20 branches of blossom in full bloom hung upside down so people could get lost in them. The woodland would be the first thing anyone saw once they walked in and would start setting the tone for the fun night that would be waiting for them.
In addition to this Wild Renata Flowers hosted the Late Night Floral Emporium where myself and my fantastic team (Tom Fraser MUA and Michelle Prosser MUA) invited guests to join us to be adorned with silk petals on their face, in their hair and of course there were a few beards decorated too.
It was a huge honour and a childhood dream come true to have been invited to work with the RA, as a student of the arts there are certain opportunities you can only muse about... and this one came true.
Thank you to Imogen Willets of the RA who found Wild Renata Flowers and had faith in my ideas.

It's the 27th Decemeber, I am sat at my Mums house in my PJ's, drinking tea and thinking about the year that has passed, I haven't had time to do it really and generally I try not to think about all the wicked things that have happened as it's hard to believe and I don't want to have a jazz freak out and faint...but....
2015 has been probably without a doubt the best year of my life so far and it has been 100% down to the support and belief of everyone around me, friends and family. Now, I am not one to gush unless I have drank a bottle of red wine and watched Love Actually but really this couldn't have been a successful year without all of my friends who without a doubt have been my biggest support, from words of encouragement, to those who have stripped off naked without question for some of my shoots, to my wonderful photographer friends Ranulph and Haris who both have such individual style and have both created some of the best imagery I could have ever asked for, who have literally reached inside my brain and pulled out exactly what I was thinking and have brought all my ideas to life, thank you so so much, I don't know how you do it - mind readers.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me on big projects from weddings to Ascot and to those who turned up without question and got stuck in when you could've been doing something else with your weekend. To everyone who has spread the Wild Renata Word and introduced me to new people and work opportunities (Hotel Creative and Self Service) big love to you.
Thank you to everyone who hasn't ditched me because I continually cancel plans at the last minute because of work, this probably wont change in 2016 but you are the best, starting your own business is amazing but it takes over everything and leaves you exhausted, covered in scratches so to know that your family and pals are still waiting for you is a wonderful feeling.
A HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of my brides this year who have allowed me to have pretty much free reign with creativity and have all been angels to work with, I would do it all again, cannot wait for 2016 weddings, it's going to be a good one.
From work trips to Singapore to being commissioned by Ascot, to weddings at Aynhoe Park and Syon Park and to hosting my first ever workshops (I used to have a fear of standing up and talking in front of people)... 2015 you have been one sexy beast!
To everyone I have met and who has been a part of Wild Renata Flowers in 2015 thank you and I bloody love you and see you in 2016!!!!!!
